With the changing world of technology, this remains a constant. People do not understand the terminology with regard to computers and the Internet. In a basketball game, I heard two people talking about the Internet and what kind of service they had. One of them said to have an ADSL router from your cable company. Others agreed and said he had a high-speed Internet through the telephone company and thought it was DSL.

Here are some simple ways to remember what kind of Internet service you have, if you want to keep the conversation accurately.

1. Many people still have the old line slow Internet connection. E ‘connected to the telephone line and is the fastest way to get online. Because of their place of residence that may be the only option.

2. Broadband Internet Cable is the cable companies. You can get access to the law for the cable that comes into your home. The cable will be at home and do the installation for you. This must connect the TV box to a cable modem. Then connects to your computer or router.

One of the advantages of having Internet access from your cable company is that no matter how far away you live in the office of the cable companies. Wherever you live you get the level of equality with others in their neighborhood. One thing that counts is the number of subscriber households will affect the bandwidth available at certain times of day the service is slow.

3. DSL stands for Digital Subscriber Line and is provided by a telephone company. You probably do not need an installer come to your house to begin. The telephone company will become your service and send you a DSL modem and a router or ADSL filters. You can use the telephone line without ordering another.

To connect, simply plug one end of a DSL modem to a regular telephone jack and the other end to your computer or a DSL router. The filters are used to eliminate any static DSL uses phone jacks. These filters can be easily adapted to the telephone sockets and telephone connections are connected to filters.

Why use the phone line share bandwidth with their neighbors is not a problem. But most people live telephone company office the slower the system will work.

If you live far away, who cannot even be able to get DSL service and would not need an ADSL router, modem or filters. You should check with your cable company to see what the options at this point.
