A Facebook spokesman said the affected profiles were disabled because they were not registered correctly. This was not politically motivated or had to do even with the heightened security measures surrounding the royal wedding, as speculated by those affected. Facebook profiles that are registered as pages of individuals, but actually represented groups, are contrary to the policies of the network.

The affected users would be notified by e-mail of the violation, the spokesman said. You would be notified as they could reactivate their accounts properly.
