A new “all you are able to eat” web hosting strategy released by Orcon’s iServe brand is proving well-liked with New Zealand companies, says Orcon CEO Scott Bartlett.

The $80 per month No Limits’ plan, which Bartlett says is unique in New Zealand, permits businesses to set up unlimited Windows and Linux websites, POP mailboxes and email addresses. It supplied for unlimited visitors and customers were not charged for additional domain names, he stated.

The plan was officially released yesterday but had been obtainable to clients for just over a week.

“We’re truly stoked using the uptake. It’s signing up about 30 customers per day and hopefully it’ll bring a lot of customers’ websites back to New Zealand.”

In recent years numerous New Zealand businesses had begun web hosting their sites overseas due to higher costs of hosting locally and the lack of limitless plans, Bartlett said.

“It’s the very first time there’s been a true unlimited strategy for sites based in New Zealand. We thought, that’s it, we will bite the bullet and try to reverse the trend of New Zealand companies going overseas for site web hosting.”

The No Limits strategy would not be as lucrative for iServe as its $20 Basic and $60 Enhanced internet web hosting plans simply because providing limitless disk space and visitors was expensive, but Bartlett hoped the new plan would have spin off outcomes including boosting the number of phone and internet subscribers on Orcon.

The plan will be particularly well-liked with web design firms and resellers that wanted to supply numerous sites without having to worry about how much their monthly bill might fluctuate, he said.

Orcon acquired iServe in May last year when it was New Zealand’s second largest hosting company. It now provides providers such as website hosting, dedicated or virtual server hosting, cloud computing services and domain name solutions.
