If you must manually configure a modem in Windows XP, follow these easy steps will show you how and why. 10. Click Next. A message appears indicating that the connection setup is complete. Check the “Add a shortcut to this connection on my desktop” if you want a connection icon on the desktop, then click Finish. Close all windows. The link appears on the desktop.
11. Double-click the connection link and click “Connect”. When a connection is established, the provider check your username and password, then a short message will appear saying that they are connected, and the window disappears. Now all you have to do is open the browser or email client to display web pages or e-mail box.
